Benefit Account Manager

We are recruiting for a Benefit Account Manager to join an Insurance Brokerage firm based out of Lafayette, Colorado. This position is perfect for someone who has experience working with health care benefits and has strong account management skills. Our client strives to provide the best healthcare options to individuals and companies with cutting edge solutions and personalized client support. Our client is a small, tight knit team and they are looking for someone that is ready to jump in and immediately be a contributing member. Managing their responsibilities and receiving assistance from colleagues during peak times of the year and reciprocating this team mentality for their colleagues as well.


Here’s what you will do:

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts for large-sized businesses.
  • Inform and educate clients on various health care benefit packages.
  • Service each account with world-class customer service  
  • In addition to maintaining, supporting, and renewing current accounts, you will also be working with sales to provide proposals to potential new clients and handling new client enrollments
  • Most of your time will be spent in the office, but you will be required to also go out and meet with clients to discuss renewal rates and assist with client benefit enrollment meetings.

Here’s what’s required:

  • 3-5 years of brokerage experience
  • Experience working with Self-funded insurance
  • Advance proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new software tools quickly, including CRMs and ERPs.
  • A personality that is outgoing and detail-oriented with an appreciation for industry deadlines. A great Account Manager is also an active listener; to be able to understand the detailed and individual needs of each client.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities
  • Keep current on continuously changing healthcare options and guidelines. Being able to adapt quickly to changes in the healthcare system.
  • Enjoy a fast-paced work environment; handling a growing portfolio of clients.
  • Familiarity with claims processing. While you will have support with claims, you will also need to be able to handle them independently as well.
  • Health and life producer license is required.

Compensation will be in the range of $60k - $70k base salary with an option of health benefits, a 401k plan, and PTO (paid time off).
